The following materials have been posted with the permission of the Bandura Educational Commission:
“With the increase of students of the bandura in the US and Canada and the establishment of the Bandura workshop (Kobzarska Sich) at All Saints Ukrainian Orthodox Church Camp in Emlenton, Pennsylvania in 1979, the need for prepared music notes arose. Under the auspices of the Society of Ukrainian Bandurists, the Bandura Educational Commission was established. The purpose of this Commission was to compile, publish, and disseminate bandura music and educational materials. Since 1983, eleven collections of music have been published, ranging from beginner music to collections of carols, religious canticles, Hryhory Kytasty compositions and music set to the words of Taras Shevchenko. Special musical collections for seminars, cultural literature, and reprints of historical publications are also provided to students. In addition, a library of music notes, a resource centre, and a program of instrument purchasing have been established by the Commission.”
